A Helping Hand (Sanitiser)…
Dear Urbanites,
We thought it appropriate to give a little insight into not only the ingredients found within our new,
pocket size hand sanitiser but also tell you a little about the initiative and our driving force…
One of the fundamental principles of Ayurveda has always been to heal the body from within using the materials given to us by Mother Earth-
(If you hadn’t already realised, plants can really pack a punch when it comes to preventing illness and protecting the immune system!).
Taking our trust in nature, and using it to inspire something that would help protect everyone during the current climate felt imperative to our brand. We’ve enlisted the help of two ingredients found in our
antibacterial Purifying skincare and bodycare range when creating our pocket size 50ml hand sanitiser:
Hand Sanitiser Ingredients:
Tea tree – being a strong antibacterial and antiseptic ingredient, it was a natural go to for us to add. It also adds a minty freshness making hands feel and smell even cleaner.
Aloe Vera – known and used for its deeply hydrating and skin softening properties. We’ve included plenty of Aloe to prevent dry hands.
As well as...
Fully acknowledging that our beloved greens would need a helping hand to protect the population, we called in some non-leafy additions for our hand sanitiser's formulation...
- Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer - a texture forming agent (creates the gel consistency and helps reduce overuse and wastage of product).
- Maltodextrin - preserves the formula and thickens (so a little goes a long way).
- Potassium Sorbate - otherwise known as salt and great for keeping our sanitiser usable for longer!
- Sodium Benzoate - widely used as a preservative (often in foods).
- Triethanolamine - balances the PH of a formula so it's skin safe
Keeping in line with the World Health Organisation, our sanitiser is 70% Alcohol antibacterial, so you can be sure bacteria and dirt is killed and skin is protected. The bottle is made from PET and is 100% recyclable.
