We know too well how hard it can be to find the perfect Christmas gift for a loved one. Whether you’re browsing ideas for someone who seems to already have everything, or present-hunting for someone particularly tricky to please, we’re here to lend a helping hand.
1. Work out your budget. Decide how much money you would like to spend on gift-giving this festive season and then split this between your loved ones. Not only does this help to keep your spending on track, but it helps with organisation (and to ensure you don’t forget anyone!)
2. List their interests. Whether it is a hobby, an upcoming trip or a particular passion of theirs, jot down some key words that spring to mind to get your ideas flowing.
3. Once you have identified their key interests, some gift ideas may have immediately sprung to mind – jot these down whilst they’re fresh in your head. Ideas for presents might pop up at any given moment, when you’re flicking through a magazine, when you’re out and about or even at work. Try to take note when you can and add these to your list.
4. When you’re doing a spot of Christmas shopping, it might be a good idea to pick up a couple of ‘back up’ gifts. These should be nice, fairly inexpensive gifts that would be suitable for a range of recipients. That way, when your neighbour surprises you with an unexpected gift, you can give something in return without embarrassment!
