Most products for oily skin work by stripping it. Skin ends up tight, then produces more oil to compensate, and the cycle repeats.

Purifying Day Cream does the opposite. Neem and Witch Hazel manage sebum while Glycerin holds hydration in, so shine is controlled without the rebound. Wild Mint contributes naturally occurring salicylic acid to help relieve congestion.

Lightweight, matte, absorbs in seconds. Wear it every morning under SPF and makeup.

How to use

Cleanse and pat dry.
Apply toner, if you use one.
Take a pea-sized amount.
Massage upwards over face and neck, pressing lightly into the T-zone.
Let it absorb fully before SPF or makeup.

Use every morning.

Tip: blend with a few drops of Purifying Facial Oil when skin needs more — in colder weather, or after exfoliating.

Active Ingredients

Witch Hazel — The most concentrated botanical in the formula. Astringent tannins tighten the look of pores and help regulate sebum through the day.

Neem — Included twice over, as both leaf extract and cold-pressed organic seed oil. Long valued in Ayurveda for skin prone to excess oil and congestion.

Wild Mint — A natural source of salicylic acid, the beta hydroxy acid that helps relieve congestion. Gentle enough to use every morning.

Arjuna — Standardised to 90% triterpenes. Reinforces the skin barrier, so oil control doesn't leave skin tight or compromised.

Bearberry — A natural source of arbutin, alongside ursolic acid and bioflavonoids that help combat oxidative damage from pollution.

Black Mulberry Root — Traditionally used to support an even skin tone and reduce the look of dullness.

Also formulated with Tea Tree, Sweet Almond, Orange, Spearmint, Eucalyptus and vegetal Glycerin.See full ingredient list

    FAQs

    Does moisturiser help spots?

It can help indirectly. Dehydrated skin overproduces oil, and excess oil combined with dead skin cells is what congests pores in the first place. Keeping hydration steady reduces that trigger. A moisturiser isn't a spot treatment, though, and shouldn't be sold as one. What it can do is stop the cycle that makes congestion more likely, which is why a lightweight moisturiser matters for blemish-prone skin rather than being something to avoid.

Do you put serum on before moisturiser?

Yes. Serums are thinner and go on first, moisturiser second. The general rule is thinnest to thickest: cleanse, tone, serum, moisturiser, facial oil, then SPF in the morning. Applied the other way round, the moisturiser forms a barrier the serum has to push through, and you lose most of its benefit.

How often should you moisturise your face?

Twice daily for most people, once in the morning and once at night. Oily skin is no exception; skipping moisturiser tends to increase oil production rather than reduce it. The Purifying Day Cream is formulated for mornings, when skin needs to stay matte under SPF and makeup. The Purifying Night Cream is richer and works overnight.

    Can moisturiser cause spots?

Some can. Heavy, occlusive formulas designed for dry skin can sit on the surface and trap oil and dead cells in the pore, which is why matching the moisturiser to your skin type matters more than the moisturiser's price. For oily and blemish-prone skin, look for a lightweight formula that absorbs rather than sits, and avoid anything that feels greasy an hour after application. If a product consistently causes congestion, that's a fit problem, not a reason to stop moisturising.

Do you put sunscreen on before or after moisturiser?

After. Moisturiser goes on first and needs to absorb fully, then SPF goes on top as the final step of your morning routine. Applying SPF underneath dilutes it and can prevent the film forming properly, which reduces the protection you actually get. Give the moisturiser a minute or two to sink in before layering.

Is salicylic acid good for oily skin?

Yes. Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid, and unlike other exfoliating acids it's oil-soluble, so it can work inside the pore rather than only on the surface. That makes it well suited to oily and congested skin. Purifying Day Cream contains salicylic acid in naturally occurring form through Wild Mint, rather than dosed as an isolated synthetic active. Think of it as a gentle daily moisturiser with BHA benefits rather than a replacement for a targeted salicylic acid treatment.

Can I use day cream at night?

You can, but you won't get the most from either. Day creams are formulated lighter so they sit under SPF and makeup without pilling. Night creams carry more emollients, because skin loses more water overnight and isn't producing as much oil. The Purifying Day Cream keeps shine down through the day. The Purifying Night Cream adds Mediterranean Cypress and a richer base to replenish overnight. The Purifying Cream Duo is the cheaper way to run both.
