Meet our sacred Ayurvedic Body Oils, one for each of our ranges.

Ayurveda is a natural healing system that maintains an inextricable link with Mother Earth and her botanicals, so it’s really no wonder we’ve made all of our oils 100% natural, vegan and cruelty free. We work to improve the sustainability of our packaging day by day. And we are proud to say, after extensive research, the containers for our Body Oils are our most eco-friendly to date. These containers come in the form of a luxurious look and feel glass bottle.

As the old-school mode of self-care (before Instagram made #selfcaresunday a thing), Ayurvedic rituals offer a way to heal from the comfort of your own home. So far, we’ve given you ‘Garshana’, which can be practised with our Ayurvedic Dry Body Brush. Now, we would like to present you with the Ritual of ‘Abhyanga’.

Abhyanga is Sanskrit for ‘self-massage’. It has been practised for thousands of years in order to detoxify, soothe and boost circulation. Now you know why, let’s explain how:

How to Do Abhyanga with Body Oil

First things first, make sure you’re in a comfortably heated room with candles lit and soft music playing in the background. Warm the oil in the palms of the hands and massage for 5 to 15 minutes. Use long strokes along the limbs towards the heart. Then switch to circular motions over the joints and chest to aid lymphatic drainage. Prepare for sleep or allow the nourishing oils to sink in for 20 minutes before bathing or showering.

The most important takeaway from rituals such as ‘Abhyanga’ is that they challenge the idea of ‘routine’. Rather than going through the daily motions of ‘self-care’ on auto-pilot, rituals allow us to practice the same healing modalities. BUT with a mindful and conscious approach.

Which Ayurvedic Body Oil Is Right for You?
